‘I am less than 12 weeks out đ so close yet so far away. I am so grateful I came across coach Andrea, he is extremely knowledgeable and taught me so much about myself and nutrition. I had found myself stuck and not being able to make progress with my fitness journey and decided to make a change during Covid. I began my journey by doing a once off training program designed for me by coach. Within 3 months I saw results that I did not expect. Unfortunately, life got crazy and I stoped working on myself. I have known Andrea for the better part of 8 years, both as a friend as well as a nutritionist and contest preperation coach. After having competed successfully in 2007 I was the victim of a shooting in August 2008, the injuries were very severe even to the point of being life threatening. After recovering from the shooting I was told by my doctors that I would never compete again. It was at this point that I gave body building up as a passion. Mid 2009 I reviewed this decision and enlisted the help of my good friend Andrea, I figured if anyone could get me back on stage in good enough condition it would be him based on his extensive knowledge with regards to nutrition, training and supplementation. Not only did Andrea help get me back on stage after being told by doctors that I would never compete again he managed to help me win a provincial title, an overall National title as well as a World title. I am of the opinion that Andrea is on of the most knowledgable individuals our sport possesses today, his integrity and honesty are unrivalled and he is an amazing human being who is always willing to share his knowledge with others for the betterment of the community as a whole.
Prior to reaching out to Andrea, I have constantly been battling with my negative relationship with food for years. I have had a history of binging disorder and have always punished myself by under-eating or overexercising if I ever let myself indulge in food that was considered âunhealthyâ. I looked at myself in the mirror multiple times during the day hating the way I looked. So I decided to reach out to Andrea because I decided it was time for a change and I was tired of being in this endless cycle of bad dieting. In all honesty, I was very skeptical because I have had bad experiences with online coaches who were very unhelpful and gave me very generic and even unhealthy nutrition plans. But Andrea was different. He was knowledgeable and he actually cared. He made sure to always check in with me and made sure that not only was I physically feeling good but also mentally. He helped me realize that itâs not the food but my mindset I had to change. It didnât matter how âhealthyâ I was eating if, at the end of the day, I was still unhappy. Every week, he made me feel good about myself and gave me encouragement when I needed it. Working with Greek Spartan for several months has been a great experience. I’ve dropped body weight and more importantly, body fat. Andrea is always quick to respond to questions/concerns, and even followed up for unscheduled chats just to make sure you’re staying on track. I cannot be brief when it comes to my Coach and my journey, but I promise you I am writing with all my heart and love. Maybe I should start with that I used to hate my body and the way I looked. I blamed myself for letting the food control my life. And punish myself with even more food. Iâve tried so silly diets that not only did confuse my body, but also ruined my self-confidence and made me feel weak-willed. Binges after diets after bingesâŚand so on. I was there, I was in the vicious cycle. I was ignorant. The only thing I wanted was to look good in order people to like my and maybe finally to feel satisfied with myself. I was silly enough to think that when I achieve this stupid aim I will start loving myself. However, thank God I came across Andreaâs profile in Instagram. This man not only do share his professional knowledges, but presents science in so simple way that itâs understandable even for an ordinary person like me. Reading more and more I became aware that my problems with weight came from my mindset. And I knew that I should search for help for healing and repairing my broken mind. Believe me he was like an idol for me, so I did everything in order to work with him and be my Coach. So my journey started. Week after week after week. In my mind there was no place for mistakes and I strictly did what my Coach said itâs best. And then came my first goings off track. All voices in my head blamed me that I had ruined everything. This is where my Coach reminded me I was not alone in this game and we do mistakes cause we are humans. He raised me back on my feet and learnt me to move on. Every next mistake was attend by less and less regret until I leant that stress and overthinking only make things worse. I really can talk a lot about this. And let me tell you why I love my Coach so much. Now I can see it was never about the fat loss. This person learnt me to enjoy my everyday, my lifestyle, to look at food as my friend even if that is chocolate. My competition was my bad habits, my inner talk when I looked myself in the mirror, discipline to go to the gym even when I was not feeling like it. I regain myself as a best friend again. I learnt putting my focus not on the problems, but decisions. Andrea thought me not to fear from the scale and being his slave, but to use is smartly. In the beginning of my journey I only hoped to lose some weight. Now, compared to all these blessings and experience fat-loss was only a bonus. I have really made great progress ( dropping in weight from 109Kg to 97Kg and in waist from 110 cm to 96,5 cm ) and my fitness levels have improved dramatically. Andrea is an awesome coach. He cares about the individual as a person and not just as a number. He can really pick up your spirit and give you a good kick in the arse (virtual) if and when you need it. He will not blow smoke up your butt. He will tell you like it is. If you are snacking, licking, and tasting; he will read in between the lines during your check ins and let you know why your progress is stalling (trust me, I know) He will also do it in a way that will make you laugh but also get you motivated to get serious. Andrea really guided me is shifting my perspective from an âall or nothingâ to a âbalanced and flexibleâ one. I grew up being super active and pretty thin, but as I was finishing up college and moving into my professional career, I realized I lost sight of my health and fitness. I focused heavily on cardio and thought I could eat the way I did as a teenager. I was wrong. Andrea helped me understand that food is fuel, and I must give my body the good stuff. I have known Andrea for the better part of 8 years, both as a friend as well as a nutritionist and contest preperation coach. After having competed successfully in 2007 I was the victim of a shooting in August 2008, the injuries were very severe even to the point of being life threatening. After recovering from the shooting I was told by my doctors that I would never compete again. It was at this point that I gave body building up as a passion. Prior to reaching out to Andrea, I have constantly been battling with my negative relationship with food for years. I have had a history of binging disorder and have always punished myself by under-eating or overexercising if I ever let myself indulge in food that was considered âunhealthyâ. I looked at myself in the mirror multiple times during the day hating the way I looked. So I decided to reach out to Andrea because I decided it was time for a change and I was tired of being in this endless cycle of bad dieting. In all honesty, I was very skeptical because I have had bad experiences with online coaches who were very unhelpful and gave me very generic and even unhealthy nutrition plans. Working with Greek Spartan for several months has been a great experience. I’ve dropped body weight and more importantly, body fat. This testimonial is a long time coming, but here it is! And Iâll try my best to keep it short and sweet. I contacted Andrea in October 2019. I was in a horrible car accident that August which caused me to lose my drive and focus in nutrition and training because I was in so much pain. As you can imagine, lack of exercise and eating mindlessly came with weight gain. At the time Andrea couldnât take me, but when a spot opened up he emailed me right away.Â
I was excited and extremely nervous. I had done Figure competitions, knew how to eat, knew how to train and have had coaches before. But Iâve struggled with compulsive binging and eating disorders since I was a kid. I was afraid I wouldnât âget it rightâ or be âperfect.â And as I expressed these fears to Andrea he didnât just reassure me that I could do it, he listened, empathized, and had compassion for the things Iâd been through in my life that lead me to using food as a tool to numb my pain. It was comforting to know I wasnât alone in what I felt and that he knew exactly what I was feeling because he, too, had been there.Â
We started the first week of March 2020 and I had mentally prepared myself for the journey. Excited, nervous, anxious. Then, Covid. And my first thought, âWhat the HELL am I going to do?â I loved going to the gym. Now I was not only worried I wouldnât get in my workouts like I wanted, I felt like I wouldnât see the results like I would without a gym. Nonetheless, Andrea told me not to worry. Told me to do what I can, stay the course, prep my meals, gave me alternatives for certain exercises, keep up your steps in, etc. So I did.Â
Just as I started to get into the groove of things, my sisters and I decided to shut down our restaurant. With everything closed, no one wanting to leave their home, we were slow. Very very slow. That made me more anxious. And although I was married and my husband had a great carrier I felt lost. What was I going to do now for income? It was like the Universe just kept knocking me down every time Iâd get up. And again, Andrea was there. He reassured me this wouldnât last forever. He told me to keep myself and health as a focus and everything else would fall into place. So I put my head down and hit the petal full throttle. I was going to use this time to focus on myself. As soon as I let go of the resistance to what was going on in the world and my own personal life, the fat started to fall off.Â
Throughout my first cut (and even the ones thereafter) I wasnât âperfect.â I was consistent. And actually, I hadnât really binged. I learned that I could get the results I wanted without being extreme. There were no cardios on empty for 45 minutes or just fish and veggies and cutting out everything else that most people deem as âbad.â I got to choose what to eat. Granted, yes, most were nutrient dense foods but I got the variety and flexibility I had longed for and never got. Anytime I felt I was slipping Iâd talk to Andrea and he made sure to tell me I was on the right track. He taught me how to trust myself. He taught me that I could go out and not be anxious about what I was going to eat at dinner. He showed me I could get results without being in the gym. He gave me tough love when I needed it but he was always in my corner. I learned how important it is to pay attention to your biofeedback (like, really pay attention), how stress impacts everything, how your hormones work especially as a woman, and how to fit this lifestyle to make it work for me.Â
Unfortunately, towards the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021 my life, again, took a turn. I was highly stressed with work (after we decided to reopen our restaurant) but my marriage was falling apart. I tried my absolute best to prep my meals and be as consistent as I had been but it got to a point where Andrea and I decided it would be best to take a break. He told me (something like this), âChristina, sometimes in life things happen that are far more important than losing fat, working out and all that. Itâs important to realize these moments, take a step back and handle them as best as we can. If that means that fitness takes a back seat itâs ok. It isnât the end of the world and it will be here when you get back. And I will be here when you get back.âÂ
Andrea has given me tools Iâll always take with me. Not the correct macro numbers or specific training programming. Real life tools to use every single day. How to have compassion for myself, how to trust myself and how to come back from something that I thought was gone. Heâs not just a coach, heâs become a dear friend and someone I could talk to about so many things, especially at one of the hardest points in my life. Heâs been extremely patient and understanding and although we arenât training now (hopefully we will be soon!), I know if I needed someone heâd be there to listen. I cannot be brief when it comes to my Coach and my journey, but I promise you I am writing with all my heart and love. Maybe I should start with that I used to hate my body and the way I looked. I blamed myself for letting the food control my life. And punish myself with even more food. Iâve tried so silly diets that not only did confuse my body, but also ruined my self-confidence and made me feel weak-willed. Binges after diets after bingesâŚand so on. I was there, I was in the vicious cycle. I was ignorant. The only thing I wanted was to look good in order people to like my and maybe finally to feel satisfied with myself. I was silly enough to think that when I achieve this stupid aim I will start loving myself. However, thank God I came across Andreaâs profile in Instagram. This man not only do share his professional knowledges, but presents science in so simple way that itâs understandable even for an ordinary person like me. Reading more and more I became aware that my problems with weight came from my mindset. And I knew that I should search for help for healing and repairing my broken mind. Believe me he was like an idol for me, so I did everything in order to work with him and be my Coach. So my journey started. Week after week after week. In my mind there was no place for mistakes and I strictly did what my Coach said itâs best. And then came my first goings off track. All voices in my head blamed me that I had ruined everything. This is where my Coach reminded me I was not alone in this game and we do mistakes cause we are humans. He raised me back on my feet and learnt me to move on. Every next mistake was attend by less and less regret until I leant that stress and overthinking only make things worse. I really can talk a lot about this. And let me tell you why I love my Coach so much. Now I can see it was never about the fat loss. This person learnt me to enjoy my everyday, my lifestyle, to look at food as my friend even if that is chocolate. My competition was my bad habits, my inner talk when I looked myself in the mirror, discipline to go to the gym even when I was not feeling like it. I regain myself as a best friend again. I learnt putting my focus not on the problems, but decisions. Andrea thought me not to fear from the scale and being his slave, but to use is smartly. In the beginning of my journey I only hoped to lose some weight. Now, compared to all these blessings and experience fat-loss was only a bonus. Even in the best physique if man is not happy in his soul, itâs not worth it. Andrea is an awesome coach. He cares about the individual as a person and not just as a number. He can really pick up your spirit and give you a good kick in the arse (virtual) if and when you need it. He will not blow smoke up your butt. He will tell you like it is. If you are snacking, licking, and tasting; he will read in between the lines during your check ins and let you know why your progress is stalling (trust me, I know) He will also do it in a way that will make you laugh but also get you motivated to get serious. Andrea really guided me is shifting my perspective from an âall or nothingâ to a âbalanced and flexibleâ one. I grew up being super active and pretty thin, but as I was finishing up college and moving into my professional career, I realized I lost sight of my health and fitness. I focused heavily on cardio and thought I could eat the way I did as a teenager. I was wrong. Andrea helped me understand that food is fuel, and I must give my body the good stuff. When I first began working with you I was hoping for a program that would help me with fat loss and strength training. Never in a million years did I expect to grow in the areas that I have. For years I had a love-hate relationship with the scale. It was a constant source of frustration in all my previous weight loss attempts. I can honestly say after working with you and everything Iâve learned, I am completely free of any emotional attachment to the number on the scale. I contacted Andrea after nearly 3 years of being in a rut. I worked with Andrea for a little over a year and have learnt so much in that time and have seen so many physical and mental changes. Gone are the rules and restriction and I have so much more flexibility in my life and I am still seeing results today.
I came to Andrea with a goal to build strength and muscle. I was at a low body weight and low fat with little mass after having had two babies back to back and breastfeeding both. I was fairly restrictive in my diet and eating (what I didn’t realize) was a pretty low calorie diet for a long time and couldn’t sustain it any longer. Andrea worked with me to get me comfortable eating lots more food and carbs but in a gradual way so that we didn’t add fat and helped me hit my goals.Â

When I first began training with Andrea, I was lost in training and my diet. When Andrea taught me the correct way to look at food, my whole world grew. I had no idea how powerful food was until Andrea taught me what to do. He taught me that it doesnât matter what your genetics are; it all depends on what you feed your body and how you train. The results from this experience have helped my athletic life out tremendously. Before Greek Spartan, It was tough to move up and down the basketball court, and I felt sluggish and tired all the time. Then after a month of changing my diet, I dropped the lousy weight, and I could see the changes happening on the court. I was way faster than I have ever been. I could go the whole game without being tired, and I still had the energy to play more games. Then as the months went on, I could see the improvements in my lifts. I kept gaining strength and seeing the results happening right before my eyes. It was not an overnight fix, I had to listen and discipline myself through it all, and it eventually (and still is) paid off. If you are looking for a good nutrition coach Andrea is your man. He is very patient when teaching, and he is always there to help you. If you show good faith towards him and listen to him, he will invest in you. Once you do this, itâs game over. Iâm not the only one who has worked with him. My mother, who recommended him to me, did the same thing, and he helped her complete her nutritional goals. I 100% recommend Andrea if you are looking for an excellent nutritional coach.

Iâve been training with Andrea for a year now and Iâm so grateful for everything. I came to him with a binge eating disorder and I can safely say I havenât binged since my first month with Andrea. He taught me so much about food and nutrition and how macros matter. I learnt so much about my bodyâs biofeedback and how it impacts scale weight. Iâve also learnt just why scale weight doesnât matter and how body composition is the most important thing to consider. I canât thank Andrea enough for all the tools heâs given me to allow me to go on holiday and go to social events and not stress and to be able to maintain my weight. Iâm a better person now and someone who no longer has an eating disorder. My relationship with food has never been as positive in my entire life and I owe that to Andrea. Unfortunately I canât continue with him any longer but Iâll take forward what heâs taught me and continue to progress for life Iâm sure.
I only worked with Andrea for a short time but he really knows his stuff! I was suffering from a severe case of esophagitis and he suggested supplements for me to try. I was skeptical but they really did make a huge difference! He was  able to help me navigate eating better foods while healing my gut also. He is a great source of information and honestly a great tool to have in your pocket if you need guidance with your diet/exercise/nutrition. I have had privilege of working with Andrea as my fitness coach for the past year and have had nothing but positive experiences. Andrea is committed to each and every one of his clients and helped me change my perspective on what a healthy body is and how I could set goals to reach that image. His knowledge and approach to fitness helped changed my mindset and perspective to how I view my health and body which to me is the most rewarding aspect of my experience. Andrea was always readily available by being a phone call or message away and held me accountable for my goals when I wanted to give up on myself. He was constantly reassuring and understood how hectic life can be so he was always willing to adjust my programs need when there were changes in my life. After following @greek_spartan on Instagram for 5 years, I truly saw how much he cared about his clients and having them achieve their goals in a sustainable, healthy way. I read testimonial after testimonial, saw client results and all his posts and felt that he would be a perfect fit to have as a coach. I had been going to the gym for 10 years at that time and loving it – fitness has been a passion of mine for a long time. However, I never thought I could trust someone off of instagram to hire as a coach.
Now after working with Andrea for just under 6 months, I can truly say he is one of the best. Before working with Andrea, I was in a constant cycle of âlose 10-15 pounds, binge, gain 10-15 poundsâ. It felt like my life was a constant diet and weight struggle. I never felt happy or content with my body no matter what and always worried that I wouldnât have a healthy relationship with food. Thatâs where Andrea came in; he fixed my mentality of how I view food and eating whether I was cutting or on vacation. I truly now listen to my hunger cues when eating and donât feel the unnecessary feeling of binging. Yes, we all overeat some days, but gone are the days of binging because the diet starts tomorrow. Furthermore, I lost about 10 pounds with Andrea during the 6 months. Today, after a month of not working with Andrea, I still have maintained 7 pounds down from then. Working with Andrea as my coach for the past 3.5 years is the best decision I ever made for my fitness goals. I was lost, constantly yo-yo dieting and never seeing the results I wanted to see. I had zero knowledge or understanding of science behind fat loss and muscle gain, just that I had an all-or-nothing mindset when it came to cardio and dieting.
Andrea taught me the factors and behaviours that increase strength; fat gain and fat loss. Proper nutrition. Mental health and the importance of dealing with stress. Importance of NEAT and smart/healthy meal options and power of consistency. But also learning to love yourself and working towards the best person you can be as an individual because not everybody is the same and we all react differently and look different too. Itâs not always about the number on the scale.. and I can confirm as I never thought I would be the size I currently am at my current weight!

Andrea has been my coach for the past 18 months and what an incredible journey it has been. He has shown up for me in every sense of the word and I now consider him a good friend.

I have been following Andrea and his spartan Nutrition Instagram page for a number of years and have always been impressed by his client transformations, his depth of knowledge and his obvious passion for education in the nutrition space.Â
